Shannon Zimmerman is an experienced strategist and advisor with over a decade spent managing complex policy issues and navigating high-stakes political environments. Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to Chrystia Freeland, Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, where she oversaw the implementation of the National Early Learning and Childcare Program, coordinated the Deputy Prime Minister’s role in the Canada-US Cabinet Committee and played a critical role in Canada’s COVID-19 response.

She previously held senior roles for multiple Federal and Provincial Ministers including the Federal Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and the Provincial Minister of Health. Shannon holds a degree in Political Science and International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.
