Allan O’Dette is a senior Canadian business leader and strategic advisor with extensive experience in government, investment attraction, economic development, corporate strategy, and governance. He is currently Senior Counsel at Sussex Strategy Group and President of O’Dette & Associates, advising companies, boards and executives on strategy, government engagement, investment, governance and growth.

Allan previously served as Ontario’s first Chief Investment Officer, appointed by Order-in-Council to lead the province’s investment attraction and retention efforts. During his tenure, he supported initiatives representing approximately $2 billion in investment, 37,000 retained jobs, and more than 8,000 new employment opportunities.

As President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Allan represented more than 60,000 businesses and worked extensively with governments and business leaders on competitiveness, investment, and economic policy. Earlier, in senior leadership roles with GlaxoSmithKline Canada, he led government relations, market access and industrial investment initiatives, including a major Canadian manufacturing expansion proposal. He also served as CEO of the Ontario Medical Association.
